Carbon capture and storage (CCS) clusters are vital in harnessing economies of scale and ensuring the technology meets the deployment levels needed to help the world meet the goals of the Paris Agreement, according to a study by consultancy Wood Mackenzie. In the IEA Sustainable Development Scenario, which is consistent with meeting the goals of the Paris Agreement, global CO₂ storage reaches 2.8gt/yr by 2050.
