Oil companies join Air Liquide, Borealis and Yara International in project to cut emissions in Normandy industrial basin
TotalEnergies and ExxonMobil-owned Esso have joined a project to explore the feasibility of deploying CO₂ storage infrastructure in the North Sea, aimed at reducing emissions in the Normandy industrial basin in northern France by 3mn t/yr by 2030. The two oil companies have agreed to undertake a feasibility study together with industrial gases and carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology company Air Liquide, and fertiliser producers Borealis and Yara International.
