UK urged to deliver on CCS infrastructure
The government must make good on plans to support CO₂ pipeline transport and offshore geological storage infrastructure development for its track-one CCS clusters, thinktank says
The UK government must start building the infrastructure needed for the deployment of carbon capture and storage (CCS), according to a report from thinktank Public Policy Projects titled Carbon capture and storage in the UK: Infrastructure to unlock investment. The government must deliver on its plans to support CO₂ pipeline transport and offshore geological storage infrastructure development for the track-one CCS clusters Hynet and the East Coast Cluster, the report says. Earlier this year, the government listed CCS projects that have qualified to be assessed for potential inclusion in the track-one clusters, as well the reserve Scottish cluster.
