US Q2 clean power installation up 13pc – ACP
Solar accounts for more than half of capacity in pipeline, followed by onshore wind, offshore wind and battery storage
US clean power installations in 2021 are shaping up to exceed 2020’s record levels after the capacity commissioned in Q2 rose by 13pc compared with the same period last year, according to trade group the American Clean Power Association (ACP). “The pipeline is encouraging,” John Hensley, ACP vice president of research and analytics, tells Transition Economist. Wind, solar and storage capacity commissioned in the second quarter totalled 5.62GW, though some of that was spillover from 2020, according to ACP’s Q2 market report.
