Two wind turbine manufacturers have faced cyberattacks this year amid heightened risk for the wider energy sector

Two wind turbine manufacturers have reported disruption due to cyberattacks since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Germany’s Nordex faced a cybersecurity incident on 31 March, prompting it to shut down IT systems across multiple locations and business units as a precautionary measure. “The intrusion was noted in an early stage and response measures initiated immediately in line with crisis management protocols,” the company says. No further information on the incident has been released.
