UK-based company secures foothold in southern Europe with $630mn deal

The UK’s SSE Renewables has expanded into southern Europe with a deal to buy a portfolio of wind and solar projects from Spain’s Siemens Gamesa for €580m ($630mn). The portfolio includes 3.9GW of onshore wind power projects across Spain, France, Italy and Greece, as well as scope to develop 1GW of solar projects.
