Italy’s Eni has the clearest and most ambitious emissions reductions targets of the big oil and gas companies, closely followed by Total and BP, according to a report by non-governmental organisation Carbon Tracker. All three firms set absolute emissions reduction targets covering scope one, two, and three emissions with interim goals measured on an absolute basis. Eni has an absolute emissions reduction target of 25pc below 2018 levels by 2030. BP is for a 20pc reduction below 2016 levels by 2025.
