New finds boost Adnoc’s output push
The Emirati firm continues to reap the benefits of recent licensing rounds, adding reserves as it works to increase production capacity
Abu Dhabi’s Adnoc and its upstream international partners have announced more onshore oil finds in the emirate, as upstream momentum continues. In late May, the Mideast Gulf NOC declared the discovery of 650mn bl of oil across three fields, taking its total reserve base to nearly 112bn bl of oil and 289tn ft³ (8.2tn m³) of gas. The announcements come amid a strategic effort to increase oil production capacity to 5mn bl/d by 2027. Abu Dhabi’s renewed upstream vigour has already contributed to an increase of c.5pc, to 4.2mn bl/d, over the past 18 months.
