This year looks set to be the start of another growth cycle for China’s burgeoning downstream gas sector, as favourable policies and ongoing urbanisation benefit city gas distribution firms such as China Gas Holdings and ENN Energy Holdings. City gas operators will likely emerge as among the biggest winners of China’s gas demand spike this winter, which resulted from a recovery in industrial production post-pandemic and strong heating needs amid recent icy weather in Northeast Asia.
