About Women in Hydrogen 50

Women in Hydrogen 50 is a list celebrating 50 women working in hydrogen. This is not an award or a ‘top 50’ list, but an opportunity to showcase the range of women working in all areas of the growing hydrogen economy. We hope that this list will increase visibility of the individuals working in the industry as well as the undeniable fact that there are significant numbers of women active in the sector.

Nominations

Nominations are free of charge and open to anyone to nominate as many women as they would like to. These can be your colleagues, friends, partners, speakers you’ve seen at events or women that you know of and believe are doing great things for the industry and for other women.

Nominations open in the week commencing 20th November 2023 and close on 8th February 2024. During this time you are invited to submit your nominations online or by email to rachel.mcghie@pemedianetwork.com. We need the name, job title and company of your nominee as well as a 1,000 character/150 word explanation of why she should be considered for the Women in Hydrogen 50 list and why she is deserving of a place this year in one of the five distinct categories.

Selection

After nominations close, Hydrogen Economist will review and create a shortlist of 20 women per category. On 15th February, the shortlist will be sent to the advisory board who will then rank all women on the shortlist from 1-20 based on how well they fit the criteria for their work in hydrogen and their support of other women and DE&I programmes or activities.

The advisory board will share their rankings by 22nd February and Hydrogen Economist will then tally the scores and the 10 women per category with the lowest score will be selected to the list.

Celebration

Hydrogen Economist will announce the full list of 50 on 8th March 2024 – International Women’s Day – on social media and via email, and will shine a spotlight on each of the 5 categories throughout March and April. Hydrogen Economist will host a celebratory networking reception in June 2024 (details tbc) where all women on the list and advisory board will have a complimentary ticket to attend and additional tickets will be available to purchase online.
